From July 18 to July 20, the Handan area was hit by continuous heavy rainfall. At Jin Zhaobo’s new factory in Yongnian, the perimeter wall of the electrical warehouse on the northwest side was washed down by floodwaters. The floodwater, combined with rainwater from Guangfu Avenue, surged into the factory through a breach in the western perimeter wall, putting the factory buildings at imminent risk of inundation. In the face of this dire situation, nine employees—Deng Shengxue, Jin Yuanxun, Zhao Qing, Qian Hongsheng, Suo Xiaokang, Cui Saihao, Ren Xianzun, Meng Yanchao, and Cui Wanghao—braved the torrential rain to cut through the temporary road that had been blocking flood discharge outside the western wall and then constructed a flood-control dike along the wall using sandbags and iron barrels. After more than three hours of relentless effort in the rain, they successfully completed the diversion and discharge of floodwaters before the water could enter the workshop. In recognition of their fearless dedication and unwavering commitment to safeguarding company property in the face of grave danger, thereby preventing any loss to company assets, each of these nine individuals is hereby commended with a merit citation and awarded a bonus of RMB 500.
